International Conference “Cooperation of Universities and Employers for Quality and Relevance of education” in the framework of Saint-Petersburg International Labour Forum

On the 1-2 March, 2018 in ExpoForum in the framework  of a large-scale event – The 2-nd Saint-Petersburg International Labour Forum will be held an International Conference “Cooperation of Universities and Employers for Quality and Relevance of education”. Labour Forum has a purpose to become the largest platform in Russia for discussing the issues related to the development of human capital. Last year the Forum received around 5000 participants and caused a great interest.

The organizer of the Conference is Saint-Petersburg State University of Economics. The forthcoming Conference is an integral part of Erasmus+ Jean Monnet Project “Cooperation of Universities and Employers for Quality and Relevance of Education”. The project is dedicated to research of the European HEIs’ experience in cooperation with employers and policy makers and dissemination of the accumulated knowledge. The main goal of the project is to facilitate a dialogue between all actors of educational process of tertiary level.

The Conference will be cohesive in a series of Project’s events. It will unite teachers, administrative officers from HEIs, researchers, representatives of business, educational authorities, governmental officials, public administrators, civil society representatives to discuss the most attractive mechanisms of employer-HEIs cooperation (with the findings about the European ways), to make evaluation of possibility of their adaptation in Russia, to motivate the academics to use European approaches wherever possible in their work and to inspire employers to participate actively in education processes.

The Conference is supposed to be divided in the following sections:

  1. Models of UBC (University-Business cooperation) in Europe.
  2. Quality of Education (methods and models of evaluation of quality of education; occupational standards: experience and problems of application, by whom they are elaborated, the correlation between occupational standards and skills map).
  3. Cooperation of Universities and Employers in R&D.
  4. Recognition of non-formal learning.
  5. Cooperation of Universities and Employers in the way to overcome youth unemployment and work in the anti-accordance with received profession.

The working languages will be English and Russian.

For the key speakers the expenses on transportation and accommodation will be covered by Project Funds in case of accordance of the subject of report to the topic of the Conference.
