«SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT: FROM ECOLOGY TO MULTIDIMENSIONAL APPROACH»

The Project is dedicated to the research of European experience in achievement of long-term sustainable development as well as implementation of the Global Agenda 2030 goals given modern challenges and threats.

In the framework of the Project 6 events are planned:

  • 2 international conferences;
  • summer school for teachers;
  • roundtable and winter school for students;
  • interactive training sessions for pupils.

Events are designed to increase knowledge about the concept of sustainable development as well as the latest achievements in the implementation of its ideas, including ecological, economic and social issues.

Project Working group:

  • Elena Viktorova – PhD in Economics, director of the IAC SPbSUE, Project coordinator;
  • Leonid Kuznetsov – PhD in Biology, Associate Professor at the Chair of regional economy and environmental management of SPbSUE;
  • Anna Iankovskaia – PhD in Economics, Associate Professor at the Chair of regional economy and environmental management of SPbSUE;
  • Alena Zainullina – leading expert of the IAC SPbSUE;
  • Daria Petrenko – leading expert of the IAC SPbSUE.

Erasmus+ Jean Monnet project “Sustainable Development: from Ecology to Multidimensional Approach” is finished

Erasmus+ Jean Monnet project “Sustainable Development: from Ecology to Multidimensional Approach” (01.09.2018-31.08.2020) has been implemented at UNECON by the International Analytic Centre.

The project was dedicated to the study and dissemination of European experience in sustainable development achievement in the field of ecology, economy and society, as well as 17 Sustainable Development Goals implementation considering modern challenges and threats.

The project events were dedicated to different aspects of sustainable development and 17 SDGs: modern environmental problems and climate change issues, responsible production and consumption, circular economy, sustainable development of territories and “green” cities, quality of education for SD, social responsibility, the role of government, business and society in achieving the SDGs, issues of equality, sustainable finance and investments, SDG reporting tools, etc.

In total, over 1100 participants attended project events, including teachers and about 200 students from 28 HEIs of St. Petersburg and other cities of Russia, 14 European experts, more than 700 pupils, representatives of local authorities, civil society and non-profit organizations. Almost 90 reports were presented at project events to deepen the knowledge about sustainable development and contribute to European studies.

The project team expresses its gratitude to the participants of the events, teachers, students and everyone who actively participated in the project and contributed to its implementation.

New project of the IAC SPbSUE about sustainable development

The IAC SPbSUE has started working on a new Erasmus+ Jean Monnet Project “Sustainable Development: from Ecology to Multidimensional Approach” (01.09.18–31.08.20).

The Project is dedicated to the research of European experience in achievement of long-term sustainable development as well as implementation of the Global Agenda 2030 goals given modern challenges and threats.

Events are designed to increase knowledge about the concept of sustainable development as well as the latest achievements in the implementation of its ideas, including ecological, economic and social issues.

The first conference “Implementation of Sustainable Development Goals: European and Russian experience” will be held on February 26-27, 2019 in SPbSUE.

Topics for discussion:

  • standards and indicators of sustainable development: best Russian and European practices and strategies;
  • ecological safety as an important component of sustainable development;
  • responsible production and consumption (debate);
  • socio-economic issues of sustainable development;
  • Life-long learning (LLL) for sustainable development;
  • civil society institutions and voluntary movements aiming at achievement of sustainable development goals (SDGs).

Applications for speakers are accepted until January 28, 2019. If you would like to be a speaker at the conference, you should apply for registration, specify the topic of your report and send the main points of your statement on dept.miac@unecon.ru. Applications are considered only in the presence of points of the statement! At will of the speaker his/her report can be included in the book of conferences’ proceedings which will be registered at Russian Science Citation Index. For non-local speakers the expenses on transportation and accommodation can be covered by Project funds in case of accepted points of the statement and in agreement of the conference’ organizer.
