Days of Poland Republic at UNECON

Days of Poland Republic were in UNECON on April 3-4, arranged with a support of Polish Institute and director of Institute Ewa Zulkowskaya in person and participation of Wrocław University of Economics and Warsaw School of Economics. 

UNECON has a long history of cooperation with Higher Educational Institutions in Poland in the fields of Research, Co-joint conference organization and student exchange. Around 15 years ago a Slavic Centre has appeared in UNECON, while Polish Language & Culture Centre opened in 2015. It is a platform for free of charge Polish language courses in Saint-Petersburg for students and all citizents. One of the teachers of the centre – Alexandra Rusek came from Poland and she is a part of UNECON team.

The event visited Rector of Wrocław University of Economics Andrzej Kaleta and a delegation from Warsaw School of Economics led by Vice Rector for Research and Management Piotr Wachowiak.

The first day was for students: Program maintained a wide range of students exchange programs and study internships, presentation of Warsaw School of Economics and Rector of Wrocław University of Economics and in addition master students shared their experience of studying in universities above. Polish language teaches gave an open class for those who wished.

The pearl of the day was performance of folk dance ensemble from Warsaw School of Economics, which showed a wide range of Polish folk culture: from Polonez to Kujawiak.

The second day was under the auspices of Unecon Slavic Centre and was dedicated to research and science cooperation filled by seminars and opened discussions, which are going to be continued next year in Warsaw School of Economics
