Grand Opening of a new German language classroom

The Grand Opening Ceremony of a new classroom for German language studies and German-area cultures studies was at Unecon Humanitarian Faculty on September, 19.Unecon Vice-rector on International Relations Dmitry Vasilenko opened the Ceremony. He drew attention on Germanys special status as a leading business partner of Russia in Europe and highlighted a specific role of German Universities in academic mobility programs implementing at our University.

Consul General of German Federal Republic in Saint-Petersburg Eltje Aderhold gave a welcome speech. She highly evaluated Unecon international experience and pointed out on the Unecon input in strengthening academic ties between both countries

Dean of Humanitarian Faculty Andrey Prutskyh spoke about the influence of German culture on developing of public and scientific thoughts worldwide, and about its role in Humanity's shared Cultural Heritage.

Temporary acting Head of Romano-Germanic Philology & Translations Research Department Julia Temralieva shared with the audience unique and rich international experience of the Departments collaboration with German High Education Facilities and Intercultural organizations.

Markus Lorenz Mathyl –  an academic associate at DAAD expressed a deep gratitude from behalf of German Academic Exchange Service to Unecon and to Romano-Germanic Philology & Translations Research Department for supporting cultural and educational programs.

As a follow-up to official part was a concert organized by Unecon students and a presentation of international exchange, part and full time programs at Unecon with German Universities.
