Official visit of General Consulate of Sweden in Saint-Petersburg

General Consulate of Sweden in Saint-Petersburg has visited SPbSUE on the 8th of December 2016.

Louise Morsing - cultural Attaché, Natalia Bratova and Lubov Petrova were representatives from Swedish side and Dmitri Vasilenko – vice-rector on international relations and Liza Rangert director of Scandinavian Centre from University side.

Future plans for cooperation in the fields of international education and business, possibilities for expansion of cross-cultural research and development were discussed at the first official part and as a result a working proposals settled down.

The second part was dedicated to the day of St. Lucia – traditional Swedish celebration, which takes part on one of the longest day in a year – 12th of December. SPbSUE Students from all levels of Swedish language course under the lead of their teacher Mariya Yatsenko performed Lucia-songs in traditional costumes. Afterword Louise Morsing gave a presentation about consulate mission on whole North-West region of Russian Federation and provided information about events, organized in order to improve Swedish language skills and knowledge about Sweden as a country among people of Saint-Petersburg interested in this cultural direction. Discussion followed and continued informally while having a cup of fragrant Swedish drink and Scandinavian pastry.
