Russian-French successful partnership

Consul General of France in Saint-Petersburg Hughes de Chavagnac, embassy attaché on science cooperation Cauchy Pascal, embassy attaché on linguistic cooperation Claudine Mocnik, Head of «Institut Francais» in Saint-Petersburg  Alain Helou and Head of Campus France in Saint-Petersburg Maria Shelkunova made an official visit to UNECON on February 20.

Rector Igor Maksimtsev, Vice-Rector on International Relations Dmitry Vasilenko, Head of Russian-French Center on cooperation in Research & Education Natalia Burova, Head of Language Centre «Lingua Franca» Oleg Zolotokrylin hosted honored guests.

Diplomats and officials highly evaluated quality of UNECON interactions with French educational and humanitarian authorities:  

  • University provides numerous of traineeships for French lectors
  • Unecon staff from International Relations Department and academicians participate annually in «University meetings in French», organized by Embassy of France in Russia
  • Amount of alumni of French-Russian united educational programs, performed by Unecon with Universities in Paris, Grenoble, Angers, is raising permanently and has already overreached 1200 specialist.
  • Students from France annually come for an exchange semester at Unecon
  • Russian-French Center on Cooperation in Research & Education works successfully

Both sides discussed further cooperation outlook: there is a draft on hosting «University meetings in French» at UNECON by year 2020. Event unites language teachers and students from all over Russia. Then it is planned to expand partnership network with Universities in France, create French-Russian Alumni Association and involve more French specialist into Unecon work.

Warm and friendly atmosphere kept durinng the meeting.

It was determined by history that among Unecon international relations, relations with France are the most long-running and counted as highly successful and productive: United educational programs with French universities, as well as double degree programs, are running for more than 20 years, co-joint research and practices of applied science are widely common, PhD papers are written under Russian-French double supervision and there plenty of conferences to support cross-cultural collaboration in all its directions.
