Summer school 2017 "Doing Business in Russia"

UNECON was pleased to welcome again foreign students within the summer school programme “Doing Business in Russia” on 17th-29th July 2017.

As last year students were to create a business plan of their companies in Russia. The projects of three teams (Bar, Hostel and Cafe) were presented to the jury. Each team defended the concept of their project which covered possible risks and threats, strengths and weaknesses. A special emphasis was given to financial planning. During the programme students also received points for their work on seminars and lectures.The winner (team “Bar”) presented the most complete business plan and answered all jury’s questions.

After project presentations all students have received certificates and the winning team has been rewarded with gifts.

During the Summer school students also had an opportunity to learn about Russian history and culture on lectures and excursions. Cultural programme included visiting museums, Russian Folklore Concert, the ballet “Swan Lake”, trip to Peterhof, Novgorod the Great, city tour and boat trip around Saint Petersburg.

Jacky, Lingnan University:

I learnt a lot of business knowledge in the lesson, how to plan the business. It will help in my future. In my opinion, the most interesting part of the programme is visiting sights of Saint Petersburg. It includes many of grand buildings.

Kathy, Lingnan University:

It is a great place. There are a lot of museums, we visited most famous places, such as the Hermitage and summer palace. I learnt a lot about business in Russia and culture of Russia, tasted Russian food. It’s a good experience for me.

Flora, Lingnan University:

I think the most interesting part is project work, because we could work together with different people with different study majors.The environment of the school is nice, the lessons quite interesting.
