Vice Premiers of Russia and China at UNECON

VII Rector Forum of Russian and Chinese Universities and II Session of Association of Classical Universities of Russia and China was at Unecon, September 17.

The event is held under the Chairmanship of Lomonosov Moscow State University Rector Victor Sadovnichiy and Peking University Rector Hao Ping in the frameworks of Russian-Chinese Commission for Humanitarian Cooperation.

The Deputy Chairman of the Government of the Russian Federation Tatyana Golikova

 and the Vice-Premier of the State Council of the People's Republic of China Sun Chunlan

took part at the Forum Opening Ceremony.

Unecon Rector Igor Maksimtsev welcomed participants. He marked sustainability and high level of Russain-Chinese relations and an input of Unecon in the following:

«UNECON participates actively in forming Greater Eurasian Science & Education Space. Since 1951 our University trains highly-skilled workforce for PRC. Over the course of many years Unecon promotes Russian-Chinese Humanitarian Cooperation in building networking with Universities and Research centers of China».

Victor Sadovnichiy presented activities of Association of Classical Universities of Russia and China. Association implements large projects in the field of Education&Science. MSU Rector highlighted a dramatic importance of youth cooperation. It gathers in exchange of experience in the areas of scientific, research, cultural and educational programs.

Hao Ping, the initiator of Association of Classical Universities of Russia and China, presented an outlook on Russian-Chinese cooperation development in the field of Higher Education, Science and Innovation.

Tatyana Golikova and Sun Chunlan for and on behalf of both countries Governments mentioned that following ideas exchange between Russian and Chinese Top University Management representatives plays a crucial role. It aims on raising a new high-skilled generation, input of which to the future well-being and national economic upturn is undeniable. Training of specialists in the field of IT, space engineering, medicine, environment preservation and energy is a one of the key partnership directions.

  «At this point Russian and Chinese participants of educational cooperation have all key competencies, organizational and technical support, informational and intellectual resources as well as political willpower to further development of long-term mutually-beneficial partnership in various spheres»

More than 40 University Top-managers from Russia and China together with Humanitarian Commission Co-chairmen discussed role and place of cooperation in spheres of education, science and innovation in humanitarian development between countries. Program included 20 presentations from University Senior managers.

It is symbolical, that Forum takes place under celebration period of 70 years since establishment of Diplomatic relationships between Russia China.

Key matters in the event agenda were:

  • Implementation by Higher Education Institutions projects on harmonization of two concepts - the development of the «EAEU» and «Greater Eurasia» from one side and the Chinese «One-Belt-One Way» Initiative from the other.
  • Increasing the volume of academic exchanges between countries in accordance with the targets settled by the Russian and Chinese leaders.
