XVI international conference “Lifelong learning: continuous education for sustainable development”

XVI international conference “Lifelong learning: continuous education for sustainable development” will be hold from 31 October to 03 November 2018 in Rostov-on-Don (Russia) at the premises of Southern Federal University under the auspices of UNESCO and with participation of the Committee on education of the State Duma.

Higher Economic School of SPbSUE (HES SPbSUE) is one of the abovementioned Conference organisers; HES scientific chancellor, doctor of economics, professor Valentin Galenko and manager of international projects Olga Tabelova are invited to join the organization committee and secretariat of the Conference correspondingly. The representatives of Higher Economic School will also chair two thematic workshops of the Conference.

During the Conference participants will examine and discuss the most actual problems of lifelong education within the United Nations’ “2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development” and “UNESCO action plan-2030” as well as Order of the President of Russian Federation “About national goals and strategic tasks for Russian Federation development till 2024”.

The key thematic workshops of the Conference:

  • Business-education as one of lifelong learning models and the factor of sustainable economic development (chaired by doctor of economics, professor Valentin Galenko).  
  • “Silver economy”: lifelong education in the “third age” (chaired by candidate of economics, associate professor Anna Arfae).
  • Problems of national and international legal regulation of lifelong learning.
  • Continuity and integration in the lifelong learning system in order to ensure its accessibility and high quality.
  • Pedagogical and organizational strategies of educational institutions interaction management: conditions, directions and methods aimed at development of equal educational opportunities.
  • People and learning towns.
  • Philosophic and sociological problems of lifelong learning.
  • Psychological, pedagogical and organizational aspects of lifelong learning for disabled people.
  • Religious education in the lifelong learning system: interconfessional practice.
  • Digitalisation of education: methodological and methodical issues of distance learning, organization of online courses.
  • Comprehensive school as a basic level of lifelong learning.
  • International programme “Eco-schools / Green flag” – educational model for sustainable development.


The conference proceedings will be registered in Russian Science Citation Index (RSCI) and published at the web-site of electronic library www.elibrary.ru
