Twenty-third session of the UNWTO General Assembly

Twenty-third session of the UNWTO General Assembly with participation of Unecon Vice-rector on Social Work Sergey Grishin was in Saint-Petersburg, September 9-13, 2019.

Session of the UNWTO General Assembly is the most important global meeting of senior tourism officials worldwide. Event, which united participants from more than 150 countries, is being held under United Nations auspices and aims on global tourism industry problems-solving. Russia hosted assembly for the first time.   

The core topic were: Innovation and Sustainable Development in Tourism; popular destinations ecological sustainability for example, then Education and Employment in Tourism, Medical and Health Tourism.

In the framework of panel discussion “Development of comfortable urban space” was raised up matters of infrastructure projects for comfortable urban environment, their influence on promoting and positioning St. Petersburg as a world-known tourist center as well as for business tourism.
