In the Chinese Library of UNECON, Larisa Zhao, the presenter of the Russian news editorial of the Chinese international TV channel CCTV, talked to economics students studying Chinese.
The students told about their perception of Chinese culture, the difficulties of learning the language, internships, competitions and joint projects with China. The visit was organized by Irina Vostrikova, Director of the Center for the Study of China and Asia-Pacific Countries of UNECON.
Recall that the first Chinese library in Russia was opened in 2015 at St. Petersburg State University of Economics. The library is decorated in the traditional Chinese style: more than 10 thousand books, albums, periodicals and other printed materials from China in Russian, Chinese and English languages – philosophy, political science, history, education, culture, science and technology, Chinese language.
For students it is a place of communication and cultural exchange with its own special atmosphere. Here students can get acquainted with the best Chinese movies, folk and classical Chinese music, learn the Chinese language, the ancient Chinese art of calligraphy and Chinese painting techniques.
The library has a rich collection of modern digital resources, and users’ workplaces are equipped with touch screens, computers, reading devices, relevant programs and high-speed WI-FI.
The purpose of the cultural space is to promote the development of international relations between China and Russia, to present scientific works of Chinese authors to foreign experts and scientists studying the Celestial Empire, to expand the areas of cultural exchange, to familiarize more deeply with the life, traditions, and achievements of China.
