Rector Igor Maksimtsev was honored with the Medal “For Assistance” by order of Roman Artyukhin, Head of the Federal Treasury (also the Russian Treasury).
Alexander Mikhaylik, Deputy head of the Federal Treasury, presented the award on the wording: “For effective assistance and regular active cooperation in implementing issues entrusted to the Federal Treasury.”
UNECON and the Federal Treasury cooperation has a long history. Federal Treasury experts participate in joint conferences and round table meetings, evaluate projects of master students, give public lectures to students from School of Economics and Finance. The cooperation agreement between UNECON and the Federal Treasury was signed in 2021.
The ceremony held in the Academic Council Hall at a joint event in memory of Nikolai Voznesensky, distinguished Soviet economist and politician. Alexander Zhukov, Head of The Federal Treasury Department in St. Petersburg also attended this ceremony.
During the event, a 30-volume project on the history of Russian financial relations and treasury was announced. One of its volumes will cover academician Voznesensky’s contribution towards national financial and treasury development.
