On March 16, 2023, the Russian-Tajik Slavonic University (RTSU) held a grand opening of the International Exhibition “Education and Career in AML/CFT”, organized by International Training and Methodology Centre for Financial Monitoring (ITMCFM) and Financial Monitoring Department under the National Bank of Tajikistan (FMD).
UNECON representative – Roman Dronov, Associate Professor, Head of the Economic Security Chair (Business, Customs and Economic Security School) and colleagues from International Network AML/CFT Institute (INI) held workshops on “Predicate crimes and the work of enterprise economic security”, “Different forms of preparing for International Student Olympiad on Financial Security (for law students)” and “Financial intelligence: prevent impossible to accept”.
During the event, the following tasks were achieved:
- Deeper understanding of young people about AML/CFT and related areas of education;
- Improving financial literacy and financial security education involvement of the young generation;
- Convincing the significant role of economic security and financial intelligence professionals in modern world;
- Demonstrating scientific and technological solutions and AML/CFT educational programs;
- Strengthening of cooperation among INI participants and partners in the AML/CFT area.
Also on March 16, 2023, RTSU held a festive event to celebrate an ancient spring holiday Nowruz (literary “New day”). Nowruz was historically originated from the Vth century B.C. in Iranian and Turkic countries and has become a national tradition since then. Nowadays it has the status of a national holiday in Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan, Azerbaijan, Kyrgyzstan, Kazakhstan, Albania, Macedonia, and Turkey.
Semyon Grigoriev, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Russian Federation to the Republic of Tajikistan, Viktor Denisenko, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Belarus to the Republic of Tajikistan, and also Ivan Ivanov, Head of the Rossotrudnichestvo representative office in Tajikistan presented as guests of honor.
There were several contests within this celebration. RTSU students of six Schools organized sections on the traditional attributes of the Eastern nations’ main spring holiday.
Then a concert was held, followed by a congratulatory speech from Semyon Grigoriev and RTSU rector Mashrab Fayzulloev, professor, Grand PhD in Economics.
The next day RTSU students of Economics and Management School (1st year, “Economics”) and Natural Science School (2nd year, “Biology”) held a cultural event on the Nowruz holiday. During the event, students shared the history of the holiday and the national traditions rooted in the distant past. Guests were also treated to songs and dance performances about spring and Nowruz, which gave the holiday a special atmosphere.
