UNECON Expands Cooperation with China: Representative Office Opened in Tangshan

On April 1, a delegation from Saint Petersburg State University of Economics (UNECON), led by Vice Rector for International Affairs Dmitry Vasilenko and Deputy Vice Rector Oleg Zolotokrylin, visited Jilin University of Finance and Economics. The visit included  a meeting aimed at strengthening academic cooperation and expanding exchange opportunities.

During the negotiations, the parties discussed the development of joint educational programs, student and faculty mobility, and collaborative research initiatives. The meeting resulted in agreements to enhance cooperation, establish a sustainable communication framework, and jointly train specialists with an international profile.

The UNECON delegation also visited the Institute of Economics and Management at Northeast Normal University. The discussions focused on prospects for cooperation, including joint educational programs, academic mobility, and curriculum alignment. UNECON representatives emphasized their readiness to expand collaboration through double-degree “3+1” programs and short-term study visits. The meeting concluded with preliminary agreements, reinforcing mutual trust and laying the groundwork for future partnership.

On April 2 and April 3, in Tangshan, UNECON signed a strategic cooperation agreement with Tangshan Oriental Education School and officially opened its representative office in China. During the visit, the parties also agreed to establish an official preparatory center in Tangshan, which will serve as a platform for preparing prospective students for study in Russia.

Participants noted that the agreements reached create new opportunities for expanding cooperation in education, research, and academic mobility.
